Clean & Safe Water
How We Started
Providing Safe Drinking Water
In 2017 Sandy and Tony Stutes began a community project in Uganda to support an orphan community in the remote mountains in the Kabale District. This project consisted of purchasing 2 acres of land, building a compound consisting of a school, starting sustainable vegetable gardens, establishing a hog farm, and raising rabbits and chickens. One of the important discoveries was the need for water for the farm as well as clean drinking water for the children. We installed a rainwater collection system to collect the water and we installed a ceramic water filter to clean the water for the children to drink. This was not only for them while at school but for them to take clean water home to their families.
Creating Clean Water Sources
The importance of creating a clean water source was driven home in this effort and when the farm became self-sustaining, we shifted our efforts to focus on placing these water machines to help as many children as possible. This was the start of the Stutes Clean Water Project. Since 2021 we have been delivering water machines to multiple locations each month in Uganda. Through the generous contributions of many, we have been able to continue this effort. In 2022, we became a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and have streamlined our operations to deliver 4-6 water machines monthly to needy sites throughout Uganda.

Who We Are.
We are driven to providing clean, safe water
We have expanded our outreach with other services, but the water machine project is the heart of what we do. Clean drinking water is taken for granted in developed communities but in the rural communities of Uganda, it is priceless. We hope to continue this ministry going forward with the continuous stream of contributions from near and far. You are welcome to join us on this journey. Your contributions are dedicated to serving these communities, as we are all volunteers in this program. Every dollar and every shilling go to provide services outlined on this website.
What We are doing Today...
We are now delivering water machines to schools, hospitals, birthing centers, churches, and remote community centers each month. We have established a streamlined delivery program that ensures worthy recipients, and we provide educational instruction with each machine delivered. We do not anticipate ever running out of locations in need. We are receiving feedback from community leaders that these machines are improving the health and welfare of the communities served. This is positive confirmation that we are making an impact one small step at a time.
Program Impact
Health Centres & Communtiy Projects Covered
Reached
Improved health and sanitation for school children
More school children are enjoying safe water for sanitation purposes as well as for drinking because of the different Eco-friendly machines we provided to the different schools. This has also improved their overall health and sanitation in their communities
Increased school attendance
More children are able to stay in school because of improved hygiene in their communities as a result of our different programs. Improved sanitation keeps more children in school rather than hospitals.
Environmental sustainability
Our organization uses Eco-friendly long lasting raw materials for our machines which promotes environmental sustainability as well in the community. Locals are also empowered to use renewable and Eco-friendly materials in the self sustainability programs for example tailoring and sewing uses Eco-friendly plant based raw materials
