Self Sustainability Programs

“Miss Susan is a single mother of six, a school head teacher and guardian to over 20 orphans at a rural school in Mityana district. Her basic source of food and income is agriculture, she grows corn, sweet potatoes, vegetables, fruit trees and also raises chickens.
Our organization has been involved with Susan since 2018 and we have provided school fees, scholastic materials, feminine hygiene products and food to help support her family and school. Miss Susan is a community leader and is involved in many development and empowerment programs in her village and at a district level, we have supported some of these programs by providing her with a sewing machine and starting a poultry project to help support and sustain her community. Eight of the children at her school including 4 teenage girls are under our school fees program and have since excelled in school”.
We are looking for a Miss Suzan in each community that we can support so that others can benefit like the people in Miss Susan’s community. We can provide tools and resources through our sustainability program with your help.

What We Do

Sustainable Cities & Communities

Building a Self Sustainable Community

Stutes Clean Water Project Inc works hand in hand with the local community population and the leaders to develop sustainable programs that will provide income for the local community. Initiatives in farming practices not only provide for the community but also provide an income for the households when farm produce is sold to the nearby communities or the urban areas in Uganda. By doing so, the communities become self reliant, sustainable and long term will be able to grow their local economies in the process.

Sustainable Communities

Building self sufficient and sustainable communites

Sustainable rural development is vital to the economic, social and environmental viability of nations. It is essential for poverty eradication since global poverty is overwhelmingly rural. The manifestation of poverty goes beyond the urban-rural divide, it has subregional and regional contexts. It is therefore critical, and there is great value to be gained, by coordinating rural development initiatives that contribute to sustainable livelihoods through efforts at the global, regional, national and local levels, as appropriate. Strategies to deal with rural development should take into consideration the remoteness and potentials in rural areas and provide targeted differentiated approaches.

Improved health and sanitation for school children

More school children are enjoying safe water for sanitation purposes as well as for drinking because of the different Eco-friendly machines we provided to the different schools. This has also improved their overall health and sanitation in their communities.

A better social economic status

Improved social economic status because of the different self sustainability programs we teach the local communities. These programs include poultry farming, tailoring, vegetable and fruit farming.

Increased school attendance

More children are able to stay in school because of improved hygiene in their communities as a result of our different programs. Improved sanitation keeps more children in school rather than hospitals.

Job creation

Through the different self sustainability programs, new jobs are created in the local communities where more and more people are needed to grow these programs. This provides an income source as well as leadership opportunities for the local community.

Environmental sustainability

Our organization uses Eco-friendly long lasting raw materials for our machines which promotes environmental sustainability as well in the community. Locals are also empowered to use renewable and Eco-friendly materials in the self sustainability programs for example tailoring and sewing uses Eco-friendly plant based raw materials.
